H.E. Sir Nigel Sheinwald, KCMG, British Ambassador, and Lady Sheinwald will serve as Honorary Chairs of the 2009 Smithsonian Craft Show, continuing the long relationship between the Smithsonian Institution and Britain established by James Smithson’s legacy to the American people. Widely regarded as the country’s most prestigious juried exhibition and sale of fine American craft, the 27th annual show takes place 23 April – 26 April 2009 in the historic National Building Museum in Washington DC.Produced by the Smithsonian Women's Committee to benefit education, outreach and research programs within the Smithsonian Institution, a PREVIEW NIGHT BENEFIT reception at the National Building Museum launches the event on Wednesday, 22 April from 6:30 until 9:30 pm.
