Last year, 17 pedestrians were struck and killed in the District. As a result, DDOT recently launched the first District of Columbia Pedestrian Master Plan that will examine all aspects of improving the city’s pedestrian environment. The detailed planning process, to be completed in October 2007, will include extensive public involvement through a Technical Advisory Committee, an online survey, focus group meetings, field surveys and a citywide public meeting. To take the online survey.
