In 1964, Mary Sawyers Baker established the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund in honor of her husband. In 2008, the Governors of the Fund established Mary Sawyers Baker Prize to honor her civic involvement & devotion to the arts.

Jim Lucio, aka Defekto, who I regard as one of the most important documentary artists of our times ... is one of the nominated artists for the 2008 Baker Artist Awards.
