If you are planning a trip to Manhattan for next weekend's NYC Pride Celebration you may wish to arrive in time for the Thursday evening, 26 June 2008 Josh Wood Productions "John Waters - LIVE: One Night Only event.
A benefit for The Stonewall Community Foundation, the JOHN WATERS' "THIS FILTHY WORLD" one-man show is a “vaudeville” act that celebrates the film career and obsessional tastes of the man William Burroughs once called “The Pope of Trash.” Focusing in on Waters’ early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this joyously devious monologue elevates all that is trashy in life into a call to arms to “filth followers” everywhere.
Held at the Concert Hall at The New York Society for Ethical Culture, at 9pm on Thursday, 26 June 2008, general admission at $37.50 iincludes a subscription to Time Out New York. Filthy VIP at $100 includes Meet & Greet with John Waters, autographed DVD and reserved seating.
