In an article dated Monday, 8 March 2010 the SWDC Blog reports that while the official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Safeway at Waterfront Station will take place this Friday, 16 April 2010 ... a preview party for shopping and tours (with a 10% discount on all groceries) will be held on the evening before which is Thursday, 15 April.Similar to the Safeway at the CityVista Complex at 5th and K Streets in NW WDC the new "urban lifestyle Safeway" at Waterfront Station will also feature a Starbucks. As well as a Signature Cafe which is a new trend at Safeway.

The newly constructed Safeway at Waterfront Station is located on the newly opened 1100 block of 4th Street between M and I Streets in SW Washington DC.
