Inside Perspectives: Photographs From The Smithsonian Community Exhibition at Ripley Center Thru 31 May 2009

On exhibit at the Smithsonian S. Dillon Ripley Center Concourse Level on the National Mall through 31 May 2009 is Inside Perspectives: Photographs From the Smithsonian Community. The exhibition features 36 winning photographs from the 2008 Smithsonian Staff Photo Contest.

Of the 17,000 photographs from 99 countries that were submitted for the 6th Annual (2008) Smithsonian Staff Photo Contest, fifty finalists were selected. Ten for each of the five categories.

From these 50 finalists, five category winners and a grand prize winner will be selected. One more winner will be selected by you, the reader. The readers' choice contest is now open and ready for you to vote. The winning entries, including the readers' chose winner, will be published in the print edition of Smithsonian magazine during summer 2009.

Category winners will be awarded $500. The readers' choice winner will be awarded $500. The grand prize winner will receive a four-day, three-night Smithsonian Journeys Grand Canyon Weekend Adventure for two from July 17-20, 2009, or the wholesale cash equivalent.
