My October 2009 National Equality March Documentary Project

Though still under construction I've just completed the basic layout of my October 2009 National Equality March / Washington DC documentary project.

While all images will not be uploaded to my various October 2009 NEM photo albums the entire October 2009 NEM collection will be donated to the Stonewall Library & Archives in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Organized by Equality Across America, learn more about the historic event but visiting the National Equality March website.

In addition to this National Equality March posting at Wikipedia here is a great posting pertaining to the October 1979 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights which lists other historic LBGT Equality demonstrations in Washington DC.

2009 Solar Decathlon opens on the National Mall

For three weeks in October 2009, the U.S. Department of Energy will host the Solar Decathlon—a competition in which 20 teams of college and university students compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house. The Solar Decathlon is also an event to which the public is invited to observe the powerful combination of solar energy, energy efficiency, and the best in home design.

The 2009 Solar Decathlon is the fourth competition, with past Decathlons occurring in the fall of 2007, 2005, and 2002. During each of the past Solar Decathlons, more than 100,000 visitors flocked to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to visit the "solar village."

Having held the Opening Ceremony earlier today, 8 October 2009, the 'solar village' will open to the public beginning tomorow ... Friday, 9 October 2009.

Open to the public from 9 - 13 October and from 15 - 18 October click here for tour hours and more details regarding the event.
