Launched in 1982, each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The
Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each congressional district.
Opened to all high school students and under the theme of "An Artistic Discovery" an opening reception for the 2010 competition winners will be held on Thursday, 17 June for a year long exhibition at the Cannon Tunnel of the US Capitol.
