My January 2010 Remake/Remix of the Fall 2004 TAKE MY BREATH AWAY Mix

When first mixed in the fall of 2004 the eclectic 'old school' mix TAKE MY BREATH AWAY included only 13 of the 20 songs that is now featured on the newly remade/remixed January 2010 tracklist.

Beatport's Black History Month's Legends Of Dance Music

Beatport celebrates Black History Month and remembers the important contribution that black producers, artists, and DJs have made to electronic music, throughout February, by publishing a number of in-depth interviews on Beatportal from some of dance music's most important pioneers.

In launching Beatportal's 2010 Black History Month coverage, Beatport has interviews with two of the originators of house music, Frankie Knuckles and Jesse Saunders.

Bikestation at Union Station / Washington DC

Though the grand opening was last October I just noticed during my 5 February 2010 Snow Blizzard trip that there is a Bikestation at Union Station in NE Washington DC.

The first of its kind on the East Coast the Bike Transit Center (BCT), paid for by the U.S. Department of Transportation and DDOT, will offer secure bike parking, a changing room, lockers, bike rentals, repairs and a small retail shop selling bike accessories, for about $1 a day.

12 African American Artists Honor Black History Month in "Mixed Media Reflections" at Corner Store Gallery / Capital Hill

Curated by Alec Simpson, Kris Swanson and Tray Patterson twelve African American artists honor Black History Month 2010 in the "Mixed Media Reflections" exhibit at the Corner Store Gallery on Capitol Hill in SE Washington DC.

Featuring the works of Anne Bouie, Daniel Brooking, Alonzo Davis, Helen Elliot, Aziza Gibson Hunter, Gloria Kirk, Wayson R. After 8 1/2 years ... The American Prayer Hour's 'counter demo' against The Family's National Prayer Breakfast in WDC

I just received an email alert from Alison Gardner of Full Equality Now DC regarding American Prayer Hour 'counter demonstrations' that will be held in cities throughout the country in protest against the 2 - 4 February 2010 The Family's National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC which will include Uganda's Family members and supporters of what has become known as the "Kill The Gays" bill.

Visit The American Prayer Hour website to learn more about this historic call to action.

And, if you are in the WDC area, there will be a 7pm meeting tonight (Wednesday, 27 January 2010) at the Metropolitan Community Church at 474 Ridge Street in NW Washington DC to discuss plans and make signs for next week's two counter demonstrations in Washington DC.
