Spotlight on Jazz Musicians Project Natale

Having first captured Project Natale at the Old Post Office Pavilion in February 2007 I was happy to capture brothers Joe and Lou Natale at the 4th Annual Downtown Holiday Market on Sunday, 14 December 2008.

Which featured Carl Cornwell on saxophone and Bob Butta on keyboards.

According to their schedule, Project Natale will be performing this Thursday, 18 December 2008 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's TAKE FIVE! monthly event at the Kogod Courtyard from 5 until 8 pm.

And on Tuesday, 23 December 2008 at the U.S. Botanic Garden’s Special Holiday Evenings in the Garden from 6 until 8 pm.

While you can purchase the three Project Natale recordings at Jazz Connect, two of their cds, namely Silver Plaza and pyramids and palms may be purchased at CD Baby or CD Universe.

Click the image above to view my Project Natale album at Ipernity.

Though, I accidently recorded the footage at the smaller pixel, here is my Project Natale - Downtown Holiday Market / WDC - 14 December 2008 video compilation.

A Spotlight on John Guernsey, The Pianist ...

While pianist John Guernsey may be found performing at the Old Post Office Pavilion on most Tuesdays from 12 noon until 1 pm as was the case when I captured him last 18 December 2007 during my Holiday Season in Washington series when researching the internet for the purpose of this blog posting I learn that the Takoma Park resident is not only a Tin Pan Alley jazz and blues pianist who did a spell as a rocker in the hippie generation and once wrote an edgy song that Emmy Lou Harris recorded but, that, the Montgomery County pianist instructor is also an accomplished artist.

Here is a Google document that I prepared that highlights pertinent information found on the internet regarding the musician and artist John Guernsey of Takoma Park, Maryland.

Here is my Pianist John Guernsey - Old Post Office Pavilion / WDC - 18 December 2007 video compilation.

Pianst John Guernsey performs at the Old Post Office Pavilion at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue in NW Washington DC on most Tuesdays, throughout the year, from 12 noon until 1 pm.

Here are the two videos defined as follows:

I look forward to capturing their performance again!
