In March and June 2008, in
cities around the world, people will
ride bikes naked to celebrate cycling and the human body. The ride demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture.
While most
Northern Hemisphere rides will take place this Saturday, 7 June 2008, most
Southern Hemisphere rides took place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March 2008.
At 3pm on Saturday afternoon, 7 June 2008, the
WDC 3rd Annual Naked Bike Ride will assemble at
McPherson which located at 15th and I Streets, NW, is just across the street from the WMATA McPherson Square Metro Station.
Snacks will be served in a screened off area before step-off. Here are some
bike decorating and
body art and body painting ideas.
Stepping-off from McPherson Square,
WDC's 3rd annual NAKED BIKE RIDE will proceed to the White House and, then, down to the US Capitol Building ...
"to protest against oil dependency".
