Washington, DC – Caos on F, Downtown Washington's artist-owned and artist-operated gallery of fine art, fabric and furniture will feature the work of Stevens Jay Carter in its space at 923 F Street NW from May 7 through June 26, 2010. An opening reception will take place on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.Stevens Jay Carter, one of several artists that helped revitalize the arts in the Penn Quarter neighborhood, presents recent work in several media and materials. Carter's work features bold and vibrant paintings using a mix of oil, acrylic, found objects, and other ingredients on a diverse array of “canvases” including ceramic tile and Plexiglas. As a compliment to the Caos on Fabric line also being showcased, Carter is additionally presenting his latest explorations on textiles. One of Carter’s fabric paintings is the pair of jeans worn by actress Sharon Swainson in The Hit.
Located at F Starts, a suite of arts spaces at 923 F St. NW in the vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood, Caos on F is an exhibition space offering a unique blend of fine art, hand painted fabric and furniture.
