I began the 6 March 2009 installment of Friday Night in Washington DC by first stopping in at the Caos of F's First Friday event. Click image for video.
Featuring the mixed media work of Chul Park and photographer Troy Plair as well as the work of co-founding artists Michael Berman and furniture maker Matthew Falls, this second installment at the newly open gallery at the F St Arts Complex runs through Friday, 20 March 2009.
An exhbition you do not want to miss, the gallery is also open to the public every Friday and Saturday from 2-7 pm and by special appointment.
Hoping to get a view and a few Friday night shots/clips of the third annual DCist Exposed Photography Show before its Saturday 7 March closing, upon leaving Caos on F I rushed around the corner to the Gallery at Flashpoint on G Street between 9th and 10th Streets, NW.
While the gallery was crowded with folks in attendance of the Pumpgirl production at Mead Theater Lab, the DCist Exposed exhibition was not available for public viewing after 6 pm.
I then took the subway to Dupont Circle were, at the south exit at the 1350 Connecticut Avenue Complex I began my 6 March 2009 Friday Night in WDC video project by capturing musician Mark Francis Nickens in his performance of "Guardian Angel".
The 6 March 2009 Friday Night in Washington DC video project then proceeds to 17th Street in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, followed by walks along P and 14th Streets in the Logan Circle neighborhood and the U Street Corridor to 13th Street before taking a Capitol Pedicabs ride west on U Street and south on 18th Street to the Starbucks at Dupont Circle North.
Clips of my walk through Dupont Circle to the 1350 Connecticut Avenue Complex at 19th Street, NW, follow ... as the 6 March 2009 Friday Night /WDC video project comes to a close as I descend the escalator at the south entrance /exit to the WMATA Dupont Circle Station.
After returning from my Saturday afternoon, 7 March 2009 photowalk much of Saturday evening and night was spent mixing the GIVE ME TONIGHT compilation which serves as background music for the 6 March 2009 Friday Night in WDC video project.
